GPSC Eligibility Criteria : The recruitment examinations held by the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) serve to appoint professionals for high-level positions within the bureaucracy of the Gujarat State. One of these assessments, known as the Gazetted Probationers exam, specifically aims at filling Group A vacancies within Gujarat Administrative Services. Eligibility Criteria for GPSC Exam

Requirements for the candidate to meet the GPSC eligibility criteria: Please ensure that the candidate meets the following criteria in order to be eligible for GPSC:

  1. A citizen of India
  2. A subject of Nepal
  3. A subject of Bhutan
  4. On or before the 1st of January in the year 1962, a Tibetan individual seeking refuge was required to relocate to India for the purpose of establishing a permanent place of residence.
  5. Individuals with Indian ancestry must have relocated to India for indefinite residency from nations such as Pakistan, East Pakistan (Bangladesh), Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.

GPSC Age Limit

Candidates belonging to the general category are subject to an age limit set by the GPSC.

  • Minimum – 20 years
  • Maximum – 35 years

The age calculation will adhere to the rule of considering the last date of receipt of the application, which in this case is the 26th of October 2021. Before this rule change, the application deadline was set until the 13th of October 2021.

Women candidates of reserved categoryThe maximum limit for age relaxation has been extended by 10 years, with a cap at 45 years of age.
Women candidates of General categoryA maximum age limit of 45 years is eligible for a relaxation of the upper age limit by 5 years.
Ex-servicemen / OfficersThe length of Military service (At least 5 years of Military services) + 3 years
Government ServantGovernment employees will not be granted any flexibility with regard to their maximum age limit.
Physically disabled candidatesThe duration of service can extend for a period of up to ten years, provided that the individual is capable of fulfilling the responsibilities associated with the positions, like any other average person. This is conditional upon presenting a medical certificate from the Medical Board, as per the GAD circular dated 01-12-2008. However, the maximum age limit for this service is set at 45 years.

Qualification for GPSC Exam (Gujarat Public Service Commission)

Applicants are required to possess a Bachelor’s degree awarded by an accredited university, or possess a qualification that is deemed equivalent.
